Professor Tears Down This Free Speech Wall

In 2011,  according to FIRE,  “the student groups SHSU Lovers of Liberty, Bearkat Democrats, Young Democratic Socialists, and College Republicans sponsored the display of a “free speech wall,” on which students were invited to write any message they wanted.”  As can be expected some obscenities were written on the wall, including the phrase “FUCK OBAMA”; this writing pushed a professor, Joe Kirk, to take boxcutters to the wall and tear it down.
