(VIDEO) Conservative Columnist Fired For Being Conservative Columnist

In 2014, University of Michigan student Omar Mahmood found out that you cannot write satirical articles mocking liberals and still expect to keep your job as a columnist for the main student newpspaper. The issue started when Omar wrote a column mocking microaggressions, safe spaces, and privilege for the Michigan Review.  After students and staff got offended (which validates his column), the Michigan Daily decided Mahmood could no longer write for both publications ( a longer explanation of the inconsistencies in the story can be found below). However, Mahmood got the last laugh, as Michael Bloomberg used time during his commencement speech to criticize the school community for attacking Mahmood.
