Virginia Tech Tries To Keep Black Conservative Off Campus

In 2016, Virginia Tech tried but failed to keep Wall Street Journal columnist Jason Riley from speaking on campus. Several professors had tried to keep Riley from speaking at an annual lecture because he had written in the past about racial issues. The school rescinded an invitation and then changed their mind, finally apologizing to Riley.
