Students Offended That Their State’s Senator Is Going to Speak at Graduation

In April 2016, students at University of Alabama-Hunstville were offended that then-Senator Jeff Sessions would be speaking at graduation, due to his support of Donald Trump. Even though Sessions was a popular Senator from Alabama, the students wanted their feelings about Trump to take precedent over the long and successful political career of Sessions representing the state.
