Student Senate Considers Punishing Clubs For Not Being Culturally Inclusive

In 2016, the University of Illinois student senate considered punishing clubs for not being “culturally inclusive” enough. The legislation would have “create[ed] more substantial consequences for communities, such as registered student organizations, registered organizations, related organizations, and Greek organizations, involved in behavior that is not culturally inclusive, engaged in acts of intolerance, or engaged in acts that violate community standards” according to the Daily Illini.
