In 2016, the City University of New York-Brooklyn investigated a professor, David Seidemann, for sexual harassment because his syllabus said he would grade class effort as part of the overall grade. According to Reason, there were no complaints against the professor or syllabus; instead the university administrators launched an investigation unilaterally.
